Regina Youth for Christ is looking for a full time Youth Care
Worker to fill a position in one of their youth homes in Battleford.
This position provides an opportunity to work hands-on with
youth in a group home setting. It is ideal for a person who is
people-focused, responsible and has a passion for guiding young
people. The right candidate will be experienced and/or educated
in working with youth in a supportive environment. Above all, they
will already be
in agreement with our Statement of Faith.
Overview:
Assessing and Planning
- Ability to assess a youth's level of independence and provide
appropriate care and guidelines
- Ability to build a support plan for and with a youth
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Ability to maintain unity and consistency of care within the home
- Ability to communicate professionally with support and referral
agencies as required
Relationship building and Support
- Ability to build trusted relationships with youth
- Ability to motivate and empower youth towards success
- Ability to support youth in problem solving and behavior choices
- Assist youth to create and meet goals
- Support youth with any day-to-day activity that they may require
support with
Overseeing and Guiding
- Ability to provide parental leadership in the home
- Ability to track and measure a youth's success
- Ability to redirect or apply consequences to a youth's choices
- Ability to hold a youth accountable for their choices
- Ability to set and maintain healthy, professional boundaries
