Description

Executive Director
Saskatoon, SK

More than 25 years ago, The Partnership, Saskatoon Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) was created through a bylaw of the City of Saskatoon. The BID is financed by a levy on commercially taxed properties within its area and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of people who represent businesses operating inside its boundaries.

Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible to lead and manage the organization according to the strategic direction set with the Board of Directors. The ED partners with the Board and the membership in setting out the vision for The Partnership and outlines the plans to fulfill it. All-the-while, the ED serves as the eyes and ears of the Board, identifying, assessing and advising on matters that arise in the course of ongoing business affairs.

Specifically, the Executive Director will act as counsel to the Board of Directors on all aspects of the organization's activities, fostering effective team work between the Board, and the staff while acting as the voice of the more than 1000 businesses that make The BID. Being the face of the organization, representing the downtown community of 3,500 residents is integral to this role.

Working with 4 direct reports and the Board to prepare and execute a comprehensive budget in the range of $1Million to secure operational funding and provide the Board with comprehensive, regular reports on the revenues and expenditures is expected. Communicating with stakeholders including the City of Saskatoon Administration to keep them informed of the work of The Partnership while identifying and evaluating the risks to the organization's people (clients, staff, management, and volunteers) is fundamental.
