Position Description
An Instructor is the educational leader in the classroom and will ensure that the colleges programs are implemented in a way that maximizes the adult students learning experiences. They plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Instructors directly shape and change the lives of students by preparing them to further their education or to gain employment. The Instructor is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her teaching assignment.

Safety, Applied Mechanics, Plant Maintenance, Steam Generation, Electricity, Heating Systems I, Pumps-Compressors-Lubrication, Instrumentation, Air Conditioning, Legislation and Codes, Drafting, Water Treatment, Heating Systems II, Prime Movers, Plant and Process Operations, Refrigeration Systems
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
Extensive knowledge in the field of expertise.
A commitment to the principles of adult education.
Knowledge of individualized and classroom instructional techniques.
Knowledge of and the ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively, both orally and in writing, with people from various backgrounds.
Education
Second Class Power Engineering Interprovincial Certificate; a Third Class Power Engineering Interprovincial Certificate may be considered.
Experience
Two years of recent, on-the job Third Class operating experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
o Instructional experience.
o Refrigeration Engineer's Certificate and experience in refrigeration operations.
