The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) has an opening for a student who is looking for employment within the Facilities Department.  This position will be located in Saskatoon.

TASKS AND DUTIES:
    Perform minor maintenance/repairs/painting that require the ability to safely use a variety of tools/equipment.
    Move, deliver, assemble and record inventory records of tables, chairs, desks and other office furniture.
    Collect recyclable and garbage items from within SIIT facilities and deposit in appropriate bins.
    Examines doors, windows, and garage gates to determine they are secure.
    Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
    Watches for and reports irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked; sounds alarm in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
    Performs periodic checks of emergency call boxes and/or outdoor lights to ensure proper functioning; reports malfunctions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must be pursuing post-secondary education for the up-coming academic year.
    Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle would be an asset.  
    Skill in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures.
    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    Knowledge of laws and regulations governing safety.
    Be in good physical condition and able to perform a variety of manual activities.
