Description

Under the supervision of the Community Ministries Coordinator/Store Manager and responsible directly to the Assistant Store Manager, the Thrift Store Worker will be responsible for the following duties:

Sorting Room Responsibilities:

-receive, sort and place or hang merchandise;
-maintain the cleanliness of the sorting room;
-remove and recycle outdated merchandise from the sorting room floor.

Sales Floor Responsibilities:

-to arrive on time every shift;
-perform customer service in a friendly and helpful manner;
-perform sales and cash register duties;
-maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor;
-maintain adequate packing and begging supplies;
-price and display new merchandise as directed by assistant manager;
-assist with seasonal changes and displays as required;
-perform any other responsibilities that may be deemed necessary by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.

A Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) check is required for employment with The Salvation Army.

MUST have Grade 12 AND a record of GOOD ATTENDANCE, HONESTY AND ABILITY in the marketplace with Public.

References MUST include former Employers and ALL references will be confirmed.
