This position is a one year contract as a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist in Lloydminster. Starting wage is $30- $35/hour depending on experience/education, and the work schedule consists of 8 hour work days with flexible hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.; some overtime may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Edit and create Word and Excel documents
- Service agreement review and editing
- Contact vendors and stakeholders to settle on terms and conditions
- Research vendors and evaluate service offerings
- Research vendors on ISNetworld
- Edit Decision Summaries and forward for approval
- Research potential vendors
- Contact potential and current vendors for rate sheets - evaluate and compare
- Request for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP)
- Includes preparation of all documents and send to stakeholders for feedback
- Lead pre-bid and post-bid meetings with stakeholders
- Lead pre-bid meetings/site visits with vendors and stakeholders
- Receive and evaluate RFQs and RFPS from vendors
- Conduct follow-ups with stakeholders to evaluate service deliveries
- Looking for someone with quite a bit of bidding and contract experience;
- Putting in place smaller value service contracts to company standards;
- Ordering of material, expediting, bid comparisons;
- Forming contract documents in accordance with company standards, the objective being to adhere to all terms and conditions and being the commercial liaison with Legal, Risk Management, Health & Safety, Engineering and Operations personnel.
- Negotiating commercial vendor contracts, clarifying scope of work and legal terms.
- Work closely with Legal and Accounting groups with thoroughness and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Must be familiar with procurement roles, responsibilities, and general business practices;
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Word
