The overall focus of the SCBA Tech is to assure customers receive quality service through the fast and efficient turnaround of SCBA equipment.
-Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Obtain and maintain industry certifications
-Timely and accurate completion and submission of paperwork
-Troubleshoot and provide/recommend solutions for service related problems.
-Maintain service vehicle and related inventory
-Participate in mandatory safety training and health and safety meetings
-Be an ongoing contributor to the ongoing development of Job Hazard Analysiss and Safe Work -Practices relevant to the position
-Inspections and service of respiratory related equipment (SCBA, Compressor)
-Inspections and service of fire equipment such as VFSS and extinguishers
-Prepare all new service scans, reports, material for input.
-Setting up and labelling of scans within plants and related terminals.
-Installation and maintenance of all fire equipment and fire suppression systems - A101, R101, R102.
-Emergency 24 hour maintenance on fire equipment and systems.
-Maintaining an updated inventory on the service truck.
-Calibrating of instruments (customer) monthly, semi.
-Inspection first aid kits.
-Inspection eyewash stations.
-Fire training, hands on for customers
-Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
-Grade 12 or equivalent
-2 years industry experience preferably with working knowledge of Breathing Apparatus service related to Scott & MSA,
-The ideal candidate will have experience in a service shop environment, building maintenance, engineered systems or heating ventilation controls.
-Good oral/written communications and computer skills required
-Willingness to work out of town as required, and perform after hours on call duties
