The 24 HR Animal Care Centre is currently seeking 2 full-time Veterinary Assistants. As an AAHA accredited practice, we provide high-quality care to all of our patients and are looking for individuals who can help us do that. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the drive to succeed. There are many opportunities for advancement within our hospital. You will also gain valuable experience working with different species and seeing a multitude of different cases.
Duties include maintaining cleanliness of the clinic and patient care (walking, feeding, etc). Monitoring of our patients, as well as assisting with various procedures(bloodwork, x-rays, preparing for surgical procedures, assisting in emergency situations, etc)are additional responsibilities that will follow once you have gained experience.
The shifts are generally 12 hours long and may include late evening shifts (typically not past midnight however). Candidates must be available to work any day of the week (including Saturday and Sunday). Experience is an asset but not a requirement. We offer a competitive starting wage, as well as a health and dental plan once the 3 month probation period is up.
