Description

The Chinook School Division is looking to hire a Site Technician who will be responsible to the Manager of Information Systems.  A Site Technician is required to perform both remote and on-site support for end user PC, multimedia and AV hardware and software in a school networked environment.  Due to the nature of the job, occasional work outside of normal business hours will be required.  The applicant will also need to be comfortable working with large numbers of end users and hold a current driver's license and have their own vehicle.  The Technician will have responsibilities for ten locations in and around the city of Swift Current and will be part of the division's IT team.

Areas of Responsibility:
- hardware support
- software support (in coordination with the Image & Software Specialist) and local software installations
- work station imaging
- printing support
- desktop imaging
- troubleshooting (network, wireless, image)
- BYOD and WAP service and support
- problem diagnosis and escalation to specific support specialists

Desired Qualifications:
- two years' experience working in a computer/network repair and support position
- good problem solving, organizational skills and Internet usage proficiency Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) -- Windows Server and Windows Client
- ability to install, test and troubleshoot software
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- experience in Change Management concepts
- proficient in the use of hand tools/electrical equipment/meters
- able to lift, carry and move equipment
