An opportunity exists for a teacher, who loves to teach, to join a highly professional team at Sylvan Learning, which provides supplemental education that inspires confidence in students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. We teach after school (4:00 - 6:00 pm). This will be a satellite centre in Humbolt.
When you join our team you will be working with other dedicated educators who are committed to helping children reach their academic goals. We are looking for a dynamic, organized,and energetic individual who wants to work flexible hours. You will receive training in the delivery of reading and math programs using the latest educational technology through the IPad.
Your qualifications include a Bachelor of Education degree, Teacher's Certificate, or Temporary Teacher's Certificate. You must also provide a Criminal Record Check. You will also be eligible to become a SylvanSync certified instructor by taking online courses through Sylvan University.
Duties for this job are to teach students using the proven Sylvan Learning programs and methods. The teacher to student ratio is 1 teacher to a maximum of 3 students, each receiving individualized tutoring. Most shifts are after school, in two to four hour sessions.
This is a casual position, perfect for someone looking to supplement their income and gain experience teaching small groups.
