Description

Reporting to the Department Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauling of all pulp machinery and mechanical equipment.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:
    Review the repair and maintenance work requirements and establish maintenance procedures and programs following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications
    Support the installation, troubleshooting, adjustments and maintenance of the pulp machinery and mechanical equipment
    Lay out pulp machinery and equipment based on layout plans
    Conduct regular observations, inspection on pulp machinery and equipment to prevent irregularities and breakdowns by identifying sources of problems
    Ensure equipment, parts, and supplies inventories are at correct levels
    Assist in the development and implementation of policies, standards and procedures for the mechanical and technical work performed in the department
    Provide estimate cost of maintenance and repair as required
    Participate in establishing and accomplishing departmental safety goals and objectives
    Support employee safety meetings (minimum monthly) and the necessary tools and resources are made available for the meetings
    Correct unsafe acts and/or unsafe conditions immediately
    Ensure that machinery and equipment installation and repair work conforms to all regulatory codes and standards
    Actively participate in the implementation and application of all mill accident prevention and safety programs
    Maintain a high degree of  housekeeping standards in assigned areas
