Description

The Director of Communications is responsible for developing, managing and monitoring the brand, reputation, policy and internal culture of Saskatoon Health Region. The director leads the organizations media and public relations strategies, internal communications functions, organizational learning and development practices, policy development and approvals processes, corporate publications, and communications management of public, stakeholder and internal issues. The position is part of the portfolios leadership team and the Regions operational leadership team, and as such must demonstrate commitment and support for the strategic direction, values, mission, vision, culture and beliefs of Saskatoon Health Region.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in health care management
Additional Text:
- A Master's degree in health services, leadership or business administration is required (candidates currently enrolled or prepared to enroll in a Master's program will be considered)
- A clinical background is an asset but not mandatory for the right leader
- Expectation to become certified as a Lean Leader with ongoing maintenance certification
- Superior communication skills
- Commitment to meeting patient and client needs
- Understanding of, and the skill to apply, the philosophies of the Saskatoon Health Region and St. Paul's Hospital inherent in the above environment
- An adaptive and proactive leadership style for identifying, analyzing and introducing creative responses to service delivery issues and opportunities
- Conflict and mediation skills
- Demonstrated skills to maintain a focus on quality in all services
