Description

Provides effective organizational leadership for the development and implementation of the supportive infrastructure for all Kaizen related activities across Saskatoon Health Region and its affiliate organizations. The incumbent will provide leadership and support for the development and implementation of the annual Kaizen Plan aimed at creating a culture of Kaizen at SHR. This includes the development of the annual Kaizen schedule and external training plan. The role provides leadership to ensure the rigorous application of Kaizen concepts, tools and methodologies to support achievement of organizational goals and implementation of the Saskatchewan Healthcare Management System. The incumbent acts as a leader within the organization consulting on and modeling the proper use of kaizen tools and techniques ensuring consistency and rigor in the application of Kaizen tools and methods.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in health care management

Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in health services, leadership or business administration is required (candidates currently enrolled or prepared to enroll in a Master's program will be considered)
- A clinical background is an asset but not mandatory for the right leader
- Expectation to become certified as a Lean Leader with ongoing maintenance certification
- Superior communication skills
- Commitment to meeting patient and client needs
- Understanding of, and the skill to apply, the philosophies of the Saskatoon Health Region and St. Paul's Hospital inherent in the above environment
- An adaptive and proactive leadership style for identifying, analyzing and introducing creative responses to service delivery issues and opportunities
- Conflict and mediation skills
- Demonstrated skills to maintain a focus on quality in all services
