Description

The Saskatoon Early Childhood Education Demonstration Centre invites applications for the following Early Childhood Educator positions:

    Permanent full-time ECE positions working with children 6 weeks  5 years.
    
Our philosophy embraces the belief that children develop best by exploring the world around them at their own pace. The Early Childhood Educator will ensure that our mission and program philosophy are incorporated into all aspects of working with children and families.  

Minimum requirements:
    ECE Diploma /  Level  III  Certification
    Current First Aid and CPR
    Well developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of differing cultural and racial backgrounds,
    High level of professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacy.
    Patient, warm, energetic, flexible, sensitive and responsive
    Clear and Current Criminal Records check and Vulnerable Sector check
    Ability to work a shift within centre hours of 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

  
Responsibilities include but are not limited to appropriately representing the Saskatoon Early Childhood Education Demonstration Centre in the following areas:
The educator will form positive relationships with all children, families and colleagues.  You will possess a genuine passion for working with young children and families that has been confirmed through your prior experiences in the ECE field.    

Start Date:   August 18 / 2014 or mutually agreed upon date.

Compensation:  Minimum Starting Wages for qualified candidate - $17.90.    Depending upon qualifications and experience the successful candidate may start at a higher position on the wage grid.

 - Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
 - Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
 - Assess the developmental level of children
 - Knowledge of licensing regulations

Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them

 - Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
 - Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
 - Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
