Under the direction of the Manager of Family Support, you will provide in-home support to high risk families with children by:
- assisting parents to develop more effective parenting skills;
- offering support to build capacities in families;
- making appropriate referrals to other programs and services when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Child Development and Positive Parenting strategies.
Demonstrated ability of utilizing Supports and Services within the Regina community.
Solid understanding and application of personal boundaries.
Good observation skills.
Computer skills, including use of Word and data management systems.
Decision making and problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Effective time management.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Child Welfare system an asset.
Must be comfortable working within the community and in client homes.
Ability to adhere to strict Privacy and Confidentiality policies.
Enthusiasm, patience, and empathy.
Education and Experience:
Post-secondary training in Early Childhood, Psychology, or Social Work an asset.
Must have experience working with families where children are at risk.
Job Requirements:
Job requires valid drivers license, cell phone, and reliable vehicle.
Criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector) and Child Abuse check.
Must be able to lift up to 15 kg.
Have CPR & First Aid certification.
