The Kitchen Supervisor is an in-scope position reporting to the Campus Manager or designate. The incumbent is primarily responsible for the co-ordination, planning and delivery of food services in a student residence. The Kitchen Supervisor has a range of duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: plan and prepare a variety of healthy, nutritious meals; ensure adherence to sanitary and health regulations in the kitchen; ensure the safe handling and storage of food; maintain inventory and order groceries and supplies as required; assign and schedule duties and hours of work for kitchen staff; ensure kitchen equipment is operational, and arrange for maintenance as required; enforce residence rules and regulations as they pertain to the cafeteria area; and prepare written reports as required.
The minimum qualifications/requirements for this position are: a journeyperson ticket in the cooking trade; one-year experience; must work regulated hours as scheduled which may include shift work; good verbal, reading and written communication skills; basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes; knowledge of public health regulations and standards.
