The Distance Education Tutor will work in a learning centre environment to provide adults registered in distance education modes of post-secondary subjects with educational support.  This support will include assisting students with all their learning needs, promoting a positive learning environment, monitoring a computer lab, maintaining building and equipment security, promoting distance education learning skills, promoting distance education opportunities, and working as part of a team dedicated to increasing student retention and success, as well as other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are: Bachelor of Arts or Education Degree, Strong computer skills, Recent/relevant experience in distance education, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Experience working with adults in a cross-cultural learning environment is an asset, An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (for example someone working towards their degree, with a substantial portion of it completed, and experience in at least three distance education delivery modes).
