Simpson Seeds Inc., a family-owned, Moose Jaw-based company, has grown to become the largest privately-owned specialty crop processor and exporter in the province. With four locations and over 30 years of experience in the buying, processing and selling of specialty grains, our growing company now employs close to 100 and exports to over 70 countries.
We are currently accepting applicants who are seeking a physically demanding position and are available to work day and evening shifts(and possible midnight shifts).
We are recruiting for a GRAIN HANDLER at our Moose Jaw Railsite location (located on the Hwy 1 south of Moose Jaw).We currently operate 5 days a week and 24 hours a day, but some Saturday work may be required.
Working with our Shipping Supervisor,you are responsible for the effective bagging, handling and shipping of grain. As stated, this is a physically demanding position and involves a high level of repetitive tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of some high school.
An ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Reliable transportation to work is required.
An ability to work in a dusty and noisy work environment.
Positive work ethic and demonstrated reliability and attendance record.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work as a team and to work independently if required.
Basic math skills.
Previous experience in a general labour position or shipping department is ideal, but not required.
Experience using a forklift, portable conveyor and power hoist for grain movement is also ideal, but training will be provided if necessary.
