Description

DUTIES:
The Recreation Programmer is responsible for providing excellent, high energy customer service. He/she will plan, schedule, market, and evaluate recreational programs in a team environment. This will require setting up and processing registrations in a computerized environment. He/she will provide clients with exceptional fitness training programs, perform ongoing monitoring of exercise equipment, and reacting to emergency situations. Other duties may be assigned on occasion.  Shift work is an integral component of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have completed a post-secondary degree or related 2 year diploma in kinesiology, recreation, leisure studies or in a directly related discipline together with relevant experience within a recreation environment. Applicants must hold valid personal training, First-Aid, and CPR certifications.  The applicant must be physically fit, and possess superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Applicants possessing a post-secondary degree or related 2 year diploma would be placed at a Recreation Programmer 2 level. Applicants not possessing a post-secondary degree or related 2 year diploma would be placed at a Recreation Programmer 1 level.
