Project: The goal of this project is to evaluate a series of gene delivery nanoparticles (based on cationic gemini lipids) and to assess the targeting and delivery ability of multifunctional peptide-conjugated nanoparticles in vitro and in a mouse animal model. The work involves synthesis of radio-labeled cationic lipids conjugated to targeting peptide, formulation of DNA nanoparticles, evaluation of in vitro cellular binding and in vivo uptake in a mouse model by PET imaging and other ex vivo techniques.
