Description

The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation (SCIC), a non-profit organization serving Saskatchewan's international development agencies, is recruiting an Executive Director.  

SCIC is seeking a talented, hardworking Executive Director.  The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization, including: administration of the Saskatchewan Matching Grants in Aid Program, delivery of the international development education and public engagement programming funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, and managing SCICs staff team.

The successful candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to establish the organization's strategic direction and achieve its goals. In particular, the candidate will have:

- Extensive experience in human relations and/or managing staff, particularly in a unionized environment;
- An understanding of federal and provincial funding structures for grants, particularly international development assistance and education/public engagement;
- Solid knowledge of international development assistance practices, development effectiveness and an ability to communicate with the public and media on these issues;
- An ability to provide vision and leadership to staff and board within an established strategic plan and in implementing outlined program and organizational objectives;
- Experience developing successful education and public engagement activities/programs on international development and global justice issues;
- Demonstrated ability to work with a volunteer Board of Directors and cooperate with government officials;
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective and timely decision making, and create a culture that facilitates innovative and effective problem solving;
- Relevant training and management experience;
- Experience with Results Based Management and working with non-profit organizations.
