PLANNING MANAGER

The City of Prince Albert has an opportunity available for a motivated individual to provide professional advice related to planning and development for the City. The incumbent will be accountable for the timely, effective, and accurate evaluation of land use, planning, subdivision, and development applications; managing the current and long-range planning programs; and attending and participating in meetings to represent municipal, planning, and community development interests.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Build positive working relationships with stakeholder groups, business, community agencies, and governments to promote and enable sustainable community development through the implementation of the current and long-range planning programs.
Provide expert advice to City Council, various boards, commissions, municipal and elected officials on land use, community planning, subdivision, and development related issues.
Manage and supervise staff, budgets, coordinate consultants, liaise and work collaboratively with stakeholders to address and resolve complex planning, development, subdivision, land use and enforcement issues.
Qualifications Include:
Degree in Planning from a University recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners.
Full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) and Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute of Saskatchewan (SPPI). Must hold and maintain a current professional planning designation (RPP).
