Description

Director of Communications
Out of Scope
Permanent Full Time

FCAA is looking for a creative and highly motivated communications professional to lead our Communications Office.

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) protects consumer and public interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial marketplace regulation. FCAA enhances consumer protection through licensing, registration, audit, complaint handling and enforcement activities pursuant to various provincial statutes. As a relatively new Treasury Board Crown Corporation, strong internal and external communications are important in achieving FCAAs goals.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will be responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing strategic corporate communications programs that effectively describe and promote our policy and program initiatives. You will lead a Communications Consultant to deliver a full range of internal and external communication services, including managing various complex and sensitive issues and leading the media relations program for FCAA.

To qualify for this position, you must have a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of strategic communications, together with expertise in media relations and issues management.  Superior interpersonal skills, writing skills, leadership skills, and the capacity to excel in high pressure situations are essential.

Typically, these skills and knowledge will have been gained through a post-secondary degree in a discipline such as journalism, communications, public relations, or another related field of study and extensive experience in a professional communications environment.  Knowledge of the issues facing FCAA would be an asset.
