Description

Civil Engineering Technician

Terms, Requirements, Duties, Wages and benefits

Terms:            Full Time
Starting Date:        As soon as possible
Reporting:        This position is directly responsible to the management
Evaluation:        An initial six month probation period and annual review

Qualifications Summary
    Good analytical skills
    Oral and written English communication skills
    Detail oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy
    Highly organized and flexible
    Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines
    Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision
    Maintains staff confidentiality
    Working knowledge of email and sector related software
Education
Completion of 2-3 year of college or university diploma / program in civil engineering

Experience
Minimum of 3 years of working experience as Civil Engineering Technician

Main duties as Civil Engineering Technician include, but not limited to:
1.    Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings.
2.    Apply the techniques related to the profession and perform all the technical activities pertaining to the area of expertise.
3.    Participate in preparing and checking various documents.
4.    Participate in field surveys, inspections of buildings and structures, drainage and water supply systems to provide data for engineering projects.
5.    Establish work priorities and assign duties to the staff working under you and meet the deadlines.

Wages, Hours and benefits:
Wages:            $25.00 per hour
Hours of duty        40 per week
Overtime        1.5 times per hour exceeding 40 hours per week
Paid Vacations        Per Provincial / Federal law
