Description

Responsible for maintaining a safe enviornment for residents and employees by ensuring compliance wiah all safety, environmental, occupational health and safety and other relevant legislation and standards.  Accountable for the promotion of continuous quality improvement.  Develops and maintains the Safety Management System for the organization.  Includes responsibility for the overall operation of services on a 24 hr basis in conjunction with the JRI Leadership Team.  The values of the organization require that all positions support the mision, vision, values and initiatives of Jubilee Residences.  The major challenges for the Quality and Safety Consultant are: 1) Risk identification, incident and near miss investigation and resolution of safety concerns 2) Resident and employee safety 3) A well-trained workforce 4) Interdepartmental coordination and cooperation 5) Promotion of a healthy and safe workplace 6) Effective problem solving skills. Ongoing safety initiatives for employees and residents.  Investigation of safety issues are key in maintaining quality services and require significant skill, energy and time.  Promotion a safe environment for residents, employeees and visitors through risk management and risk reduction strategies including infection control.  Develops and monitors performance indicators within the strategic plan.
