The Manager Occupational Health and Safety will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team responsible for managing claims related to WCB, STD, LTD. The Manager is responsible for developing and implementing programs and strategies that enhance the line manager's Occupational Health and Safety Legislative requirements; Occupational Health and Safety training; WCB, STD, LTD; Return to work Program, Employee and Family Assistance Program; Employee Health Program.
Within the policies of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region, the Manager Occupational Health and Safety will assist in the integration, coordination and development of existing and new staff health immunization program and health promotion activities. You will ensure the provision of region-wide health services (immunization, health promotion) to all staff across the region.
The Manager Occupational Health and Safety has numerous and frequent internal contacts across the region. External contacts include affiliates, health agencies and colleagues in other health regions.
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience in health care or private sector. Including at least on year in management.
Qualification:
- Bachelor Degree in Commerce or Human Resources; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Excellent management, leadership, organizational and decision making skills
- Familiar with the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CUPE, SUN, HSAS) within the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region
- Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and the internet
- Knowledge of income replacement plans (WCB, SAHO Disability, Sick Leave, SGI)
- Working Knowledge of application legislation (CH&S, WCB, Labour Standards, Human Rights, HIPA)
