Responsibilities:
Collaboration with the Springside Recreation Association;
Plan, implement and evaluate various community sport, culture & recreation programs based on present and future community needs:
Work with community groups and committees to facilitate the organization of community events; Manage, monitor and supervise programs to ensure program success and safety;
Assemble inventory and be responsible for program materials, supplies, and equipment;
Promote community programs to ensure that residents are aware of the various opportunities and activities. This will include travel across the community and surrounding area;
Research and prepare grant applications and budgets; expense program funds and follow up with appropriate documentation;
Establish mutually beneficial partnerships with other communities and their coordinators;
Act as a link between the communities and local, district and provincial sport, culture and recreation organizations.
Facilitate a community wide needs assessment survey within the first 30 days in the position
Qualifications - The successful candidate must have:
A degree or diploma in education, sport and recreation, or related. A suitable combination of related education and additional experience may be accepted;
Extensive experience with a variety of forms of social media and basic computer skills;
Current Minimum Standard first Aid and CPR-C;
Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check within the last 30 days;
A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle and a clean drivers abstract within the last 30 days
