Description

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Secretary-Receptionist reports to the Board Chair and is responsible for:
1. providing a variety of secretarial and clerical duties.
2. adhering to all Policies and Procedures as established by the Board.
3. working collaboratively with the Board and consultants in achieving the strategic objectives set by the Board.
4. respecting confidentiality.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Providing word-processing services as required by the Board or fund-raising committee.
2. Developing and maintaining a central filing system for the development office
3. Answering the telephone and taking messages or redirecting calls as necessary.
4. Responding to e-mail queries about RGHA and forwarding messages and replies as required.
5. Assisting the fund-raising committee as required.
6. Ensuring the display space is maintained in a clean and presentable manner at all times (cleaning as required).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. An interest in hospices.
2. Some secretarial experience.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office[Excel,Outlook, PowerPoint, Word].
4. General operating knowledge of all office equipment [fax, phone, photocopier, etc.]
5. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and maintain poise.
6. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
7. Pleasant, courteous and respectful manner in person and on the telephone.
9. Superior written and oral communication skills.
10. Excellent interpersonal skills;
11. Ability to work with little or no supervision;
12. A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a community-based NGO;
13. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
14. A signed Oath of Confidentiality and adherence to Privacy and Conflict of Interest policies;
15. Satisfactory letters of reference.
