JA Tech is recruiting for Term Journeyperson Instrumentation Technicians. The successful applicants would be working in an operating plant in a maintenance role or in a commissioning role.
JA Tech Inc. is a provider of specialized construction & field technical services for most equipment & apparatus which form a part of an electrical power system. The services vary in scope from emergency troubleshooting to installation, maintenance & acceptance testing, commissioning, start-up, system studies & analysis, repairs & turn-key type solutions. More recently, we have extended our services to include instrumentation & overhead cranes.
The test, simulation, & measuring equipment provided by JA Tech is some of the most advanced, up-to-date & well maintained in the industry. Successful candidates will be offered a rate of pay that is greater than the industry average.
Skills & Qualifications:
-Interprovincial Journeyperson Instrumentation Certificate
-Strong interpersonal, communication, & problem solving skills
-Highly motivated
-Comfortable working independently & with a team
-Valid Class 5 drivers license & willingness to travel regularly to job sites
-Proficient in Microsoft Office
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Maintenance duties
-Commissioning & start-up
-Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine test & maintenance procedures
-Use pneumatic, electrical & electronic testing devices to inspect & test instrument & system operation, & diagnose faults
-Practice loss management principles
-Consult with & advise process operators
-Repair, maintain & adjust system components or remove & replace defective parts
-Do risk assessments
-Calibrate & maintain components & instruments according to manufacturers' specifications
-Work with engineers on basic design
-Install & maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment
-Interpret & use appropriate CSA, ISA & API installation standards & practices
