AFL Global is looking for an EHS professional to join our expanding team!
The EHS Professional coordinates all EHS activities for a particular area or Business Unit, ensuring that compliance is maintained with AFL Telecommunications and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will lead the effort to implement and monitor EHS management systems and training to address risks associated with the business.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
75% -80% Travel around the Province required.
BS/BA degree in Safety, Environmental or Health, or a technical degree with EHS emphasis in course work
Knowledgeable in Federal, Saskatchewan and construction regulations
Requires general PC skills and ability to use Microsoft Operating System
Must have a drivers license and be able to operate cars
Have the ability to verbally communicate with all levels of the organization and prepare and deliver presentations
Must be able to function in a team environment
Regular walking, standing and sitting are required
SPECIFIC JOB DELIVERABLES
Manage investigations, record keeping, case management and documentation for all incidents
Ensure all incidents are reported according to AFL guidelines
Contractor safety management Orientation of new contractors, audit/monitor contractors, report findings and provide customer with all reporting requirements
Audits, monitors and documents work AFL employees in the assigned area to ensure compliance with standards
Ensure EHS training is conducted for all affected personnel
Deploy Fujikura and AFL Telecommunications initiatives
Develop process to implement Certificate of Recognition (COR)
Responsible for cost effective ways for delivering training and obtaining safety supplies.
Providing EHS support while minimizing travel expense is essential.
