Description

We are currently seeking a financial analyst to provide financial reporting, budgeting, analytical and forecasting support to the Lloydminster District Management team.  This is an 8-month temporary position with a salary of $60,000 - $80,000/year.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Accounting
Professional Accounting designation would be an asset
Minimum 3 year petroleum experience would be an asset; a combination of relevant experience and education will also be considered
Excellent knowledge of oil and gas accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of integrated management information systems, preferably a minimum of 2 years hands on experience with SAP R/3
Proficiency in the development of MS Excel spreadsheets; knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint are an asset
Above average analytical skills in order to secure relevant information/data and identify key issues and relationships to determine appropriate course of action to rectify deficiencies
Excellent business writing and oral communication skills
Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines
Exceptional skills in effectively managing multiple tasks, often under pressure and within rigid time constraints

Specific responsibilities will include:

Compiling and interpreting  monthly financial data
Preparing and monitoring monthly financial reports for management, investigating variance issues  and preparing the financial sign-off documents, on a monthly basis
Preparation of annual operating and sustaining capital budgets
Preparing quarterly operating cost forecasts
Ensuring business activities are reported accurately and in a timely manner
Compiling, preparing and delivering responses and presentations to the district management team
Participating in system development activities
Ensuring corporate policies are adhered to
