Municipal Project Manager/Engineer
Prairie Region
Our Opportunity
This position is part of the Prairie regional delivery team and as such can be based in Red Deer, Grande Prairie, Calgary or Saskatoon. The successful applicant will:
Manage a wide variety of projects including subdivision developments, municipal infrastructure upgrades and resource developments which will likely include the design and construction of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation infrastructure
Manage multi-disciplinary teams in completion of preliminary and detailed design projects
Prepare correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, specifications and meeting minutes
Manage projects including project team direction, co-ordination, monitoring schedules and budgets, and invoice preparation
Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public
Supervise staff with particular attention to mentoring of new and junior employees
Perform business development and marketing activities to current and potential clients in order to generate future business
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the provinces of Alberta and/or Saskatchewan
7 to 10 years experience in municipal engineering and project management
Knowledge of and experience with application of Alberta and/or Saskatchewan/Canadian engineering standards
Strong project management, technical and analytical skills
Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Microsoft Project
Past experience managing employees
