Welders Qualifications, Duties, and Requirements:
Welders qualified to multiple welding processes, for use in joining specialized-corrosion resistant high nickel alloy metals together and to other dissimilar metals.
Welding processes would include, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW
Materials of construction include:
Clad Plate - A516-70 Carbon Steel backing with 3mm Monel 400 clad.
Monel 400 solid plate
A516-70 carbon steel together
Welding Monel 400 together or to A516-70 carbon steel use an Inconel Alloy 625 filler.
Applicants must provide history of previous projects requiring welding on high nickel alloy clad or solid plate materials.
5 + years experience welding on high nickel alloy ASME Section VIII designed pressure vessels
CWB Certification a plus
Must qualify for weld certification in accordance with ASME Section IX.
Weld quality is subject to stringent project NDE requirements, including radiographs (X-Ray), LPE (liquid penetrant examination), MT (magnetic particle testing), (VT) visual examination and PMI Testing (Positive Material Identification) of the Monel 400 seams to assure the weld deposits contain the desired alloy chemistry.
Experienced in pressure vessel field assembly and lay out.
Assist with fit-up of vessel components working with the fitter / riggers.
Inspect weld seam preparation for cleanliness and proper fit prior to welding.
Familiar with and capable of welding and working on industry standard tank builders scaffolds to heights of over 15 meters.
Qualified and capable of working from a man-lift or scissor lift to access and work on weld seams at heights over 15m.
