(Part Time)

The Organization:
Founded in 1955 as the Lutheran Sunset Home of
Saskatoon, LutherCare Communities provides
excellence in care, housing, and community
services within a nurturing Christian environment.    

Opened in 1985, the Luther Seniors Centre offers a
community day program for seniors with dementia.

The Position:
LutherCare Communities has an opportunity at the
Luther Seniors Centre for casual Recreation
Attendant.  This position requires the Recreation
Attendant to facilitate programs for seniors with
dementia. A few of the programs that you would be
expected to facilitate and assist with are; word
games, puzzles, crafts, reminiscence groups,
bowling, and bingo. The Recreation Attendant will
assist the participants with toileting, bathing
and meal times.    

The Applicants:
Applicants for this position will have completed
either a Recreational Therapy course, Personal
Care Worker course or have experience working with
seniors with dementia as an equivalent.  
Applicants must: demonstrate genuineness, be able
to discuss concerns in how to interact with
participants, and have a passion for working with
seniors.  The successful candidate will be open to
feedback, flexible in day to day changes with the
participants and willing to work as a team. Only applicants available for day shifts Monday to Friday need apply.
