Description

-Champion overall operations by being on the road quarterbacking day-to-day customer service delivery and collection operations to ensure timely and safe completion of all routes and that route completion times are balanced across the service area;
-Bring operational strength in the areas of creating efficient route structures, fleet maintenance, safety and compliance, and human resources management with overall responsibility of service delivery against budget and service contracts terms and conditions;
-Make timely judgement calls to bring about the most effective way to utilize employee time and trucks, while using knowledge of logistics, routing principles, geography, worker productivity, and material generation rates in each season;
-Plan and deploy daily labour and fleet assets to ensure 100% completion of the work against budget;
-Ensure all routes are completed within the timeframes specified by service contracts each day; remain active in the field until such time as all units have been cleared for the day;
-Ensure required fleet preventative maintenance and repairs are performed;
-Review and approve documentation related to operations on a daily basis;
-Receive and document calls from clients regarding service delivery and collection operations; resolve customer issues within stipulated timelines;
-Provide front-line staff with regular feedback and coaching;
-Ensure employees are aware of all safety and operational policies and procedures; review and rectify identified deficiencies;
-Conduct regular tailgate safety talks with drivers;
-Investigate and document all personal injury and property damage incidents and accidents and submit investigation report; complete WCB forms and submit as appropriate;
-Engage in the selection process for drivers as required; conduct road tests for driving positions as appropriate;
-Audit truck cabs and other components of fleet vehicles and submit vehicle inspection reports to management;
