Located at our Home Office in Saskatoon, SK and reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Associate is reponsible for:
1.Auditing employee payroll master file on-line for each retail.
2.Preparation of payroll journal entries for salary/benefit splits per retail.
3.Preparation and processing of payroll journal vouchers from information supplied by the retail.
4.Handling retail inquiries providing accurate information.
5.Balancing remittances for Income Tax, CPP and EI.
6.Preparation and balancing remittances for group insurance policies by the deadline dates.
7.Distributing all data as required.
8.Scheduling and preparing special reports as required (e.g., records of employment, year end working papers, provincial insurance, etc.). Advise Superannuation and applicable insurance plans of terminations, transfers or leaves of absence of employees.
9.Reconciling trust liabilities and clearing accounts as required.
10.Maintain department files as required.
11.Assist Senior Payroll Associate as required.
12.Other duties as assigned.
NOTE: The successful candidate will need to acquire knowledge of payroll regulations and processes.
Qualifications:
1.High School Education
2.Accounting Certificate or Introductory and Intermediate Accounting from an equivalent Post Secondary Institution.
3.Minimum of one (1) year of payroll or relevant accounting experience.
