Duties include but are not limited to working closely with Sales, Agronomy and Operations staff while assisting in field scouting, soil sampling, grower inquiries, tours and field days. Safe operation of Cavalier Agrow equipment is essential. This position works closely with all members of the Cavalier Agrow team, as well as our growers and industry reps. The Field Scout Apprenticeship Program (FSAP) was designed as an interactive program for summer agronomy apprentices in order to motivate and teach them the ins and outs of crop scouting. The Agronomy Apprentices are required to check their assigned fields routinely and consult with a Grow Partner in order to develop a recommendation to present to their co-operator each week. The FSAP program has allowed our agronomy appetencies to gain confidence in their knowledge and train them to properly offer the sound agronomic guidance that Cavalier Agrow so proudly provides to our producers. They work closely with the growers and our experienced sales staff to help them determine appropriate products and timing for their fields. This program has allowed our students to build confidence and competence in the agronomy field.
