Summary:
The Saulteaux Language Instructor/Teacher Assistant, responsible for planning and delivering the Saulteaux Language program and also responsible for assisting teaching staff in the areas of planning, preparation, instructing, evaluating, supervision and coordination of educational activities for the Nursery, Kindergarten and Grade 1 - 4 students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Teacher Assistant Certification and/or a combination of post-secondary education and experience in a similar position.
B) Extensive knowledge of First Nations customs and protocols and the ability to fluently speak and write in the Saulteaux language.
C) The ability to assist teachers in planning, preparing and delivery of classroom instruction and utilize the program aide resources as required.
D) Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with students, parents, fellow employees and community members
E) Be well organized, punctual, dependable, reliable and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
F) A valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
G) Submission of a criminal records check, with vulnerability sector check with aplication.
H) Submission of a pre-employment drug test with application
I) Submission of 3 written references with application.
