The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 250 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. The Melfort Propane Branch invites applications for the position of Propane Service Technician.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and carrying out service and installation orders from retail Co-ops, retail members, and FCL direct accounts. As well, the candidate will be responsible for completing annual maintenance checks on all required commercial and filling plant locations, along with completing repairs as required. As a technician, the position includes the sale and use of Co-op propane, along with customer service to all retail personnel, customers, and co-workers in a helpful and respectful manner. Training on the Propane Sales Management System (PSMS) would be involved, along with maintaining inventory of propane equipment, parts and fittings.
The successful candidate must hold a valid Gasfitter license, qualified to perform service work and installations on propane equipment up to 400,000 BTU's. Applicants are required to have a valid Class 3 license and have a safe driving record. Preference will be given to individuals with experience relating to residential or commercial propane installations. Willingness to participate in the department On-Call program will be required on a rotating basis.
