Facility: COMMUNITY SERVICES-ML

Department: MLCS-KIDS FIRST PROG
  
Hours of Work: In a 3 week rotation: 14 shifts of 8.00 hours

Salary or Pay Band: $30.284 to $37.029 (5 step range)

Job Summary:
The Social Worker BSW will be accountable for the provision of assessment, treatment, referral and case management of individuals, couples, groups and families who experience mental health problems and/or addictions problems and who are clients of the KidsFirst program.

Provide professional consultation and collaborative support as a member of the KidsFirst interdisciplinary staff team.

Offer counseling services in non-traditional settings with flexible work hours.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Bachelor Degree in Psychology
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Valid Class 5 drivers license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to make appropriate clinical judgments regarding client care
Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Assessment of emotionally disordered children and youth and their families
Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues
Demonstrate responsible decision making through the application of knowledge, critical thinking and sound clinical, legal and ethical practice
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Sound knowledge of the principles, practice and ethics used within adult and child and youth mental health positions
Understanding of clinical theory, best practice, and experience in working with adult and/or child and youth mental health populations
