KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indian Social Work along with experience in residential setting
- Knowledge of the Residential Services Manual
- Knowledge of First Nations Culture, values, and traditions
- Knowledge of the Indian Child & Family Services Act
- Knowledge of the Children's Advocate Office
- Ability to establish healthy & respectful relationships with child & youth
- Superior time management skills
- Strong leadership/monitoring abilities
- Ability to establish strong working relationships
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness work evenings & to travel and ability to lift
MAIN DUTIES:
- Implement Case Management Policy and Procedures
- Primary contact person between 4DCFS Inc. and the family and the Agency/Regional caseworker
- Provides leadership in the development of the individual case plan with the child and the primary worker
- Provides counselling to residents
- Adhere to all 4DCFS Inc. policy & procedure manuals
- Attendance at staff meetings, training and workshops
- Other duties as requested by immediate supervisor
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Check & Child Abuse Check
- Fingerprinted Criminal Records Check
- Submission of a Drivers Abstract and Prohibited Drug Screen
- Driver's License; Ability to obtain Commercial Auto Insurance Coverage
- FirstAid/CPR
