PAGC Education is seeking a Work Place Essential Skills Coordinator to work in the Athabasca Region in the communities of Black Lake, Fond du Lac and Hatchet Lake. The successful applicant will coordinate; develop educational programs based on statistical data, training programs for the youth of the Athabasca Region. This person will work alongside community interagency (all departments), leadership, elders and parents. The Coordinator will work with National Child Benefit workers (NCBR), Income Assistant workers (IA), Health workers (AHA), Education Department, Justice Department, Employers, Mining Companies and Leadership. The Coordinator will assist the interagency committee in the 3 Athabasca First Nation communities to amalgamate services to ensure that the members are well served. The team (Coordinator/Tutor) will be meeting with leadership and agencies to determine services availability. The Coordinator will work with community members, high school and Career Counsellors to identify training based on labour market demands:
Qualifications:
? Bachelor of Arts Degree/Certificate or equivalent
? Must have exemplary proposal and report writing skills
? Statistical Training Certificate
? Familiarity with the PAGC communities
? Ability to travel to and work in PAGC communities and schools.
? Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
? Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and superior computer skills (Word processing and spreadsheets).
? Fluency in Dene an asset.
? Must provide a copy of a Valid Driver's License.
? Must provide a copy of a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check or proof that it has been applied for.
? Ability to work well in a team approach
? Knowledge of Denesuline cultural values and traditions would be an asset.
