Description

We are currently accepting applications for the position of School Age Program Leader!

The successful candidate will plan and facilitate programs for school aged children ages 6-12 at the Moose Jaw YMCA.  This will include our Afterschool Program as well as programs for children in evenings.

This position, under the direction of the After School Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development, planning and execution of YMCA activities for school aged children afterschool and on non-school days and early dismissal days. The applicant will also be providing day camp services in the summer months and during school breaks.  Applicants must be able to develop a program curriculum that includes, but is not limited to themed programs, creative movement, literacy, and sports-based programs.

Competencies:

Communication Skills:  The candidate will be required to communicate with children, parents and other staff in a professional and welcoming manner.  They will have the ability to speak to and instruct groups of children in a manner that engages their participation and plan activities that are based on the children's interests.

Organizational Skills:  The candidate will be required to plan and deliver a variety of programs, track attendances and registration statistics.

Computer Skills: The candidate will be efficient in using Microsoft Office software.
Time Management: The candidate must be able to multi-task efficiently manage time and duties.

Qualifications
- Clear Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry Check
- CPR C & First Aid certification
- Valid drivers license
- 1-2 years experience working with children
