JOB SUMMARY:

The Specialist, Planning (Overhauls) is responsible to oversee the development of the detailed execution plan and schedule for all overhauls in Hydro & Renewables. He/she will ensure buy-in to the plan and schedule by all Key Stakeholders including Operations, Maintenance, and Contractors. In conjunction with Project Manager, he/she will control and execute the plan.



BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Serves as the leader of the Overhaul Management Team and provides input regarding the schedule, cost, technical and resource requirements of proposed work.

    Manages the overhaul work list, ensuring that it is up-to-date and accurate.

    Develops the control budget.

    Monitors the work of planners assigned to the overhaul; ensures that they have accurately reviewed and assessed resource requirements for work packages. (i.e. manpower, duration, craft, material, equipment.)

    Collects all overhaul work requests and follows the procedure for their approval and preparation; maintains a log of all overhaul work requests.

    Directs and coordinates the development of the overhaul schedule and ensures that resources are balanced for the most effective resource use.

    Interfaces with all Project Leaders to ensure the integration of overhaul plans with the project master schedule.

    Once the schedule is complete, conducts a formal scope review with the Project Leaders as per the work breakdown structure.

    Assesses Added / Extra / Cancelled Work Packages for impact on schedule, cost and material availability and ensures approved additional work is incorporated in the overhaul plan.
