RESPONSIBILITIES
*Ensuring the satisfaction of both wholesale and do-it-yourself customers and building positive long-term relationships with them
*Handling store merchandising, stock rotation and replenishment, and housekeeping functions
*Selling including helping the store manager develop the stores annual sales plan
*Handling the stores accounts receivable function.
*Assist with implementation of consumer promotional events.
*Supervise, direct, and participate in the hiring and performance management of all staff
*Help with training of store staff.
*Handle direct volume consumer sales.
*Review and authorize refunds and cheque payments.
*Assist with timekeeping and ensure that adequate staff is on hand at all times.
*Maintain store wallcovering book library.
*Control store inventory.
*Balancing and closing out the cash register, and making the daily bank deposit. (A valid drivers license, and own transportation is required)
REQUIREMENTS:
*Minimum High School education or equivalent. Prefer Bachelors Degree in business related field.
*Minimum 3 years of Customer Service experience with a background in retail sales (preferably in paint or hardware.) Experience in a Leadership or Assistant Manager role is an asset
*Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, as well as good written and verbal communication ability.
*Some experience in non-selling activities such as financial reports, credit and accounts receivable performance, scheduling and inventory control would be preferred
*Excellent wholesale and contractor customer service skills, including problem solving and handling customer complaints.
*You must have a valid drivers license.
