Description

Reporting to the City Manager and drawing from extensive knowledge of municipal planning, you are well equipped to lead the Planning and Development Services department as the City embarks on a growth agenda.  Ensuring departmental initiatives align with strategic objectives set out by council and administration, you play a pivotal role in the City of Prince Alberts advancement.

Managing the divisions of planning, land sales, economic development and building inspections, you lead your team in building an accountability culture. Using your keen ability to research and analyze information, you review permits, sub-divisions, and other documents to ensure the City of Prince Albert complies with applicable legislation.  Liaising with local business developers and social groups, you create lasting partnerships and take into account the impact on all stakeholders when considering each plan of action.

With exceptional presentation skills, you are comfortable with the media and handling public relations.  You have strong political acumen and understand local government as it relates to this position.  An enthusiastic team leader and builder, you create mutual respect with direct reports and ensure team alignment with planning and development goals.

You have a post-secondary education complimented by 5-10 years of progressive experience in municipal planning and a MCIP designation.   Strong communication skills and thorough knowledge of codes, acts and regulations related to planning and building inspections are required.
