Community Health (Mental Health Services) - Weyburn, SK (Child & Youth)
Job Summary:
Working out of the Child & Youth Mental Health Services Clinic in Weyburn, the incumbent will provide clinical services to a primarily child and youth population. These services will be delivered through a combination of direct service, consultation, commuity resource development and education.
Hours of Work: In a 6 week rotation: 28 shifts of 8.00 hours
Experience:
One-year post-graduate work in Child & Youth is desired, preferably in a Mental Health setting. Experience with, and understanding of Mental Health Programs is desirable.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
- Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, independent judgment and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively counsel and work with individuals, families, and groups
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with professionals, para professionals and other service providers
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrate responsible decision making through the application of knowledge, critical thinking and sound clinical, legal and ethical practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge in applying a cognitive-behavioral or other major modes of therapy with emotionally, socially and behaviourally disordered children/youth and their families
- Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention
- Knowledge of normal child and adolescent development and psychopathology
- Presentation skills
