SUMMARY:
Wellness/Justice Coordinator is supervised by the Director of Operations, with overall accountability to Chief & Council, the Wellness/Justice Coordinator is responsible for the administration of community programs. The objective of children, youth, family services and justice programs is to ensure a structured, continuum of individual, group, family and community development opportunities, built on a solid foundation of cultural identity and self-empowerment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An undergraduate degree in the field Human Services. A combination of relevant post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of three (3) years practical experience in program coordination and/or program development. Experience in program delivery within a First Nations service agency will be considered an asset.
- Excellent time, task and people management skills and the ability to adhere to reporting schedules, policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the First Nations social system and a firm understanding of the social supports available to enhance individual, family and community development.
- Be pleasant, professional, punctual, and reliable and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to interpret funding agreements, inter agency service agreements, applicable legislation and contract management.
- Working knowledge of the First Nations governance structure, traditional protocols, family systems, culture and language.
- The ability to administer policy, follow direction, and work with minimum supervision.
- A valid drivers license and own a reliable vehicle.
- Willing to undertake a pre-employment drug screen
- Submit a criminal record check with vulnerable sector check prior to commencement of employment.
