Description

The Labourer is responsible for the repair and regular maintenance of park, parking lots, etc. These tasks include litter pick-up; equipment repair, maintenance, installation and removal; sign maintenance; barrier and sign installation, minor landscaping; and snow removal. Will be involved with the public which requires a considerable display of tact and common courtesy. Working both indoors and outdoors throughout the grounds and various facilities both on site and off site.  Perform general labourer duties including, but not limited to: move, set-up and tear down of equipment for various events. Ability to work at sustained pace and produce quality work.  This position is physically strenuous and demanding job that involves: lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects anywhere from 40 lbs. to 100+ lbs. Expected to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.  May be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells as well at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.
Grade twelve (12) education supplemented with a Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
Experience in the operations of arena, commercial or industrial building maintenance.
Refrigeration Operators or Firemans Ticket is an asset.
Possession of a valid CPR & First Aid certification card is an asset, but not required.
Possession of a valid CSTS training card is preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Provincial drivers license.
Proven knowledge and experience of WHIMIS Program, is preferred.
Knowledge of safety regulations, Labour Code and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Must possess excellent public relations and good communications skills.
Candidate must also possess and maintain a valid Criminal Record Check
