Position: Fitter
Location: Oxbow, SK (the unique opportunity of a
big-city job in a small-town setting!)
About Us: Established in 1991, Saskarc Industries
is an industry-leading custom metal fabricator. We
fabricate heavy plate projects as well as
structural steel fabrications.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Lead Hands, you
will be responsible for reading and interpreting
technical drawings and blueprints. You will be
doing some manufacturing of components from the
drawings but will be responsible for assembling
the various components into a structure based on
these drawings. You will tack weld the components
in place, understanding the reaction of metal and
heat to determine the correct sequence of welds to
ensure the accurace of the structure's dimensions.
We are not a production line shop; everything we
make is custom and so there is a great variety of
work. Most of our work is done to CWB or higher
standards and we are looking for people who are
well developed in the craft of welding to fulfill
this role.
Qualifications: This position requires 2 or more
years of welding experience with heavy plate and
structural carbon steels. Stainless steel
experience is an asset.
